Behind the Bulb Team Remembers
BILLY MAYS
July 20, 1958- June 28, 2009

Those associated with the Behind the Bulb production know that Billy Mays played a role in the creative process of writing the film's script. Mr. Mays is one of the many TV "pitchmen" that are made reference to in the film, but because of the admiration and respect the writing team has for him, Mr. Mays was written into a subplot with the film's lead character, Less Kessler. Early this year a slight controversy ensued when BTB director, Jay McGee, created a spoof networking page as Mr. Mays. The page was created to promote the film, and add another layer to the rivalry between Less Kessler and Billy Mays. Unfortunately members of the site were unable to comprehend the light hearted nature of the mock feud, and threatened to ban those associated with the page from the site. All of us associated with the Behind the Bulb production could not be more upset to hear the news of Mr. Mays' passing, and out of respect have removed his role from the picture entirely. We send our most sincere condolences to the friends, colleagues, and family of Mr. Mays, and would like thank him for the many years he brought energy and light to our commercial breaks. We will remember Mr. Mays as being entertaining, professional, and above all else unforgettable.
